The article deals with the problems of teaching professionally oriented English language ESP ( English for Specific Purposes ), related to the translation of military knowledge. It is shown that the mismatch of representative concepts in different versions of the English language is due to the difference in the realities of military life in the English-speaking countries. The change in the composition of concepts over time is noted.
