Abstract

In the study the author investigated the matters of culture, life, customs and traditions of the Spanish people. In the paper there is a detailed review of some of the omens of Asturias, Catalonia and other parts of Spain, related to the birth giving and its circumstances. The author drew special attention to the problem of the evil eye and a concept of ingalius. Discovered in Catalonia secret catechism also confirmed that Tuesday was an unlucky day for being born. In Asturias Friday also had a reputation of a bad day for a birthday. The examples of Spanish proverbs and sayings, different kinds of prayers for exorcising inagalius clearly illustrated the presented material. This phenomenon is only common in Asturias - in Asturian dialect bable it is los ingalius, always in plural. Researchers have not treated this phenomenon in much detail, as well as many of the issues related to culture, traditions and customs of the Spanish people. In order to expand our understanding and knowledge about Spain, it is necessary to continue exploring the heritage of cultural memories of this country.
