Abstract

This article is devoted to the semiology of Roland Barthes, designed to demonstrate the possibility of reading a
thing as a linguistic system. Following Barth's logic, a thing, like a language, is formed as a relationship between the
signifier and the signified. This also implies the main message of Barth's works, which reflect a methodology designed to
explain how things can mean something in the modern world as a whole.
