Abstract

Following article is about researching of pedagogical function of speculative discourse in modern digital culture. The process of gamer’s contextualisation into the university of computer game’s fantastic nature is analysed in order to show the interaction between human and speculative hypothesis. The process was illustrated on the example of computer game called Syberia. Based on conducted analyses there was made a conclusion that explains the manifestation of the pedagogical function of speculative fiction. It is deduced that the mail goal of speculative fiction in modern digital culture is in teaching human to cooperate with the fear of future and prepare him or her to meeting with the unknown.
