Abstract
The present article investigates intertextuality based on postmodernist fiction discourse with elements of magic realism. Proceeding from the quantitative, distributional, temporal and territorial parameters of intertextual inclusions, the authors reveal the prevailing symbolic function of intertext and derivative cognitive functions of intensifying the positive or negative evaluation of characters and of accentuating their ethnocultural identity.
