Abstract

Ceramics based on hafnia and rare earth oxides is promising for production of new highly refractory materials. The review presents a discussion of thermodynamic properties obtained in the systems under consideration by various methods of high temperature chemistry. The urgency to continue the study of thermodynamic properties in the systems consisting of hafnia and rare earth oxides has been shown in order to optimize synthesis and application conditions of the highly refractory materials.
