The present work is devoted to the study of the brain mechanisms associated with execution of manipulative false and truthful actions. The analysis of effective connectivity revealed that the realization of both false and truthful actions, associated with manipulating the opponent’s opinion, is characterized by a bottom-up interaction between the nodes of the frontal-striatal system: the caudate nuclei modulated the activity of the prefrontal cortex. Revealed data support the involvement of an error detection mechanism in selecting between purposeful manipulative actions.
