Ikaite is a unique mineral forming at the cold environments and not stable at the normal condition. We found ikaite crystals in two cores close to the Laptev Sea continental slope during research cruise onboard RV Ivan Petrov in 2018. Crystals were studied using XRD, stable isotopes (δ13C and δ18O), and Sr isotope ratio. Possible mechanisms of their crystallization are discussed in the presentation.
