The first political trial held in Russia after the overthrow of the autocracy, attracted the attention of the wider society. Using this process, the Provisional government hoped to ease tensions in relations with the revolutionary masses, thirsting for revenge against their oppressors. His fight against the Grand interference in the Affairs of the military Department, the rumors about the contacts with G.E. Rasputin did Sukhomlinov enemy for the monarchists. Before the start of the process in the press, including the Soviet “news” has appointed the former Minister guilty of all the failures of the Russian army. In the process, the position of the editorial Board has undergone some changes, moved away from baseless accusations. The main part of the publications in the “Case of Sukhomlinov” is a statement of the court hearings, with a minimum of editorial review. However, the publication of the charges predominates over content protection. By the end of the trial, the editors lost interest in the lighting process and the fate of the defendant.
