Abstract
The article is dedicated to missionary activity of St. Niceta of Remesiana, an apostle of Balcans and Danubian lands. Based on the analysis of sources and first of all of the XVII poem of St. Paline of Nola, the author proves the possibility, that St. Niceta both crossed Danube and reached Carpathian mountains, Dnestre and Prut. His activity touched Bessi, Goths, Gets, and Dacians and St. Niceta preached not only in Roman province Dacia, situated on the territory of modern Serbia, but also in lands of Free or Wild Dacia, situated on the territory of modern Romania. Urbs Tomitana, mentioned in St. Pauline’s poem is identified with Tomes, modern Constance. The final conclusion of the author is that St. Niceta of Remesiana is the apostle of Rumanian lands.
