Description

The International Scientific Philological Conference has been held annually at St. Petersburg State University for 53 years, which has made it one of the most significant events for Russian philology. The conference is one of the largest scientific forums on philology in the country. By the decision of the Programme Committee, the conference was named after Lyudmila Verbitskaya, an outstanding Russian philologist. According to the established tradition, the conference brings together a variety of scientific topics, reflected in 11 directions - from general linguistics and literary theory to interdisciplinary research, teaching methods and testology. The event will include breakout sessions and round tables. The International Philological Conference opens with a plenary session and allows representatives of different scientific areas to get acquainted with the main achievements of philological science over the past year. Scientists, leading specialists in their field from Russia are invited to participate in the plenary sessions. The planned number of participants is 600. The conference will be held from 25 to 31 March 2025.
