Education according to Curriculum of the discipline is an integral part of the main educational program (OOP) in the direction of 09.03.03 «Applied Informatics» with conferment of qualification (degree) - Bachelor in Applied Informatics in Arts and Humanities. This work program is implemented on the basis of competence-oriented curriculum requirements and is focused on the acquisition by students of a number of general cultural and professional competences, to extent set by the basic methods and trends of communication theory development. Competences on which this work program of the academic discipline is focused can also be filled with a complex of knowledge and skills provided by other disciplines implemented in the framework of the OOP for Bachelor of Applied Informatics. On this basis, the following goals and objectives are formulated in this program (the mission of this academic discipline): There are following main objectivesof the discipline «Communication Theory» development. • to develop students an in-depth understanding of the existing theoretical potential of the science of communication, to present communication processes in context of various theories, namely museum communication, cross culture communication, cognitive communication etc. • tobroaden the horizons of future experts, which will allow them to think thoughtfully and professionally, solve creative problems in the application of information technologies in art and the humanities The Course Aims: • to introduce students history of communications development, their specifics at each stage, mutual influence and interdependence of communication and social processes; • to develop knowledge of basic concepts of communication theory at a level sufficient for their application to study of the professional cycle disciplines. • to develop critical thinking skills, expanding students' skills for working with scientific literature and electronic resources • to develop ability of logical conclusions making, to analyze and compare of the communication theories , to formulate and defend their position.
